I'd love to give Marker 32 five stars but waiting 45 minutes for your table when you have a reservation especially when your foot is in a cast makes me say no can't do it. Let's start with my arrival. I had no idea there would be 2 flights of stairs to enter the restaurant. Normally I wouldn't care but I have a cast on my leg. Luckily my husband noticed a " lift " that could take us up to the top. It's more like a dumb waiter & it was pretty scary but we made it! The bubbly hostess told us our table wasn't ready yet so our party of 4 went to the bar. The first thing you notice when you enter the restaurant is the noise. This was a week night & the place was loud. I mean really loud to the point of almost uncomfortable. We were still early enough to take advantage of the HH at the bar. The HH wine and tequila are are good value. I chose the tequila & for $5 it was really good. We also got a bottle of wine because my friend did not like the HH white wine choices (which we brought to the table 45 minutes later). I'd say after about a 25 minute wait at the bar a nice young man came over and told us to choose an appetizer that he would service at the table and apologized for the wait. I thought this was a very nice gesture. The place was still extremely busy and extremely loud and I was pretty uncomfortable at the bar with the cast on my leg. After 45 minutes, we were shown to our table. Again, a lovely young person came over to our table and told us dessert would be on them for the wait. That was extremely nice because many places won't do anything for waiting. The rest of our evening was lovely but again the noise level was out of control. I'd say we got there about 6 o'clock and the noise kind of dissipated around 8 o'clock halfway through our dinner. For the appetizer we chose the calamari. It was small rings of calamari that were cooked nicely. Nothing outstanding but definitely good.My husband had Seared Duck Breast with caramelized apple and bacon risotto / haricot verts / truffle leek purée / duck demi he said it was very good & enjoyed it. My friend & I both ordered the New Bedford Scallops which were served with collard greens / creamy grits / roasted corn basil shrimp broth. We both agreed it had an excellent flavor & the scallops were fresh and done correctly, however the dish was too soupy where you almost needed a spoon to eat it. Our other dining partner had a fish. I don't remember what it was. It might've been a special I could not even hear the server when he rattled off the specials. The birthday boy said it was very good. Our service throughout the evening was excellent. But it was difficult for us to carry on a conversation because of the noise. When it came time for dessert, their desserts look so good. We ordered three. It was a friend's birthday and they put a candle in his cake. The birthday boy had the crème brûlée. My friends and I shared the peanut butter bread pudding. I love bread pudding and never pass up an opportunity for bread pudding. It came à la mode and it was delicious. My husband had sort of a chocolate cake if I remember, and also thought it was excellent. I have mixed reviews about this restaurant because of the extreme wait time and the noise level. The restaurant did try to make it right and I applaud them for that. The service was excellent and so was the food. I will definitely go back and try it again and see if it was just an off night as far as the noise and the wait time.

Top restaurant in Jacksonville! Reservation is a must. Place was packed at 7pm on Friday evening. Limited bar seating and very small waiting area. Service is top notch. They had someone coming by our table constantly to fill up waters. No drink went empty. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable. Top notch service. Food was to die for! The oyster came with a yummy onion mixture on the side in addition to the normal condiments. The deviled eggs were amazing. The scallops were cooked perfectly and paired with grits that melt in your mouth! We cleared our plates. A nicer place, although decent prices, recommend for a special occasion

This is our go to for our anniversary..& NEVER disappoints. We stated with a cocktail and the broiled oysters. Perfect blend of spinach bacon & tomato, just like New Orleans. We shared a Caesar's salad which had a savory sweet touch from pickled red onions..:)) my entree was scallops with grits delicious & spouse had flounder special with roasted eggplant & carrots. We ended with a chocolate red mouse w/strawberries. We did receive complimentary champagne for our Anniversary. pretty atmosphere on the water and looks like a great bar scene for 40+ crowd.

So first, I have to say I worked in the food and beverage industry for a combined 16 years. I did everything in the business to include going to culinary school. Now I haven't worked in the business for many years and since 2020 the culture has really changed. Especially when it comes to wait staff. Tonight, we had a young lady mamed Lizza, who was perfect in every way! So, after going to a baby shower, my wife and I decided to go out and grab some apps and drinks. My wife wanted to go to a couple of other places, but I had been wanting to go back to Marker 32 for a while now. So I felt tonight would be a good time to go. So I haven't been to Marker 32 in probably close to 18 years. Thinking it probably wasn't going to be busy from the past was I surprised. It was packed, ok, so it's Sunday night, holiday weekend. No, this is how it is every night! Awesome, the place has changed since I was last here. We'll ww walked in the hostess was nice and greeted us, and we're able to accommodate us. Now, here is where everything kind of began. They served us fresh bread and water before our server came over, well my wife didn't want to be there, she didn't see anything on the menu, But when Lizza came over she kind of sensed things and became very engaging which kind of made things better. So we went and ordered some wine and apps. Tuna poke, which was absolutely amazing, fresh tuna, seaweed salad, and the sauce was kick ass! Lizza said that she would bring us more sauce without us even saying anything. Next I had the 1/2 dozen raw oysters, now these were a little small for my taste. I like thick meaty oysters. But they were good. Then last we had the pork belly, melt in your mouth, the sauce and the pickled raw veggies... Mmmm A couple glasses of Moscato! Perfect! I like to always finish off with an expresso and Sambuca. To my amazement as soon as I said Sambuca Lizza asked white or black? That's a first. Most places either don't have it or the servers have never heard of it. The expresso came hot and with a twist, my sambuca came straight up with 3 coffee beans. Got the creme brulee for dessert. Great finish to a good night. Todd, one of the managers, took the time to talk with us. I believe this will become one of our regular places. Funny, I just read an article on the couple that owns all the fish camps and Marker 32. Great job! Keep it up and this place will be around for another 20 plus years.

The majority of my reviews on Yelp focus on food over service because I usually find service at restaurants to be adequate, but unremarkable. Marker 32's service is REMARKABLE! We were greeted immediately by the friendly host and seated right away. As soon as we were sat, I noticed the host, or perhaps the manager, immediately tell someone in the back that our table was seated and we were brought water and an assortment of bread right away. Our server was kind, personable, and clearly put a great deal of thought and effort into her descriptions of the daily specials which was endearing and made us feel special. It's rare to get a server that seems to truly care about their job and your experience. And it wasn't just our server. The servers at the tables around us clearly had the same care and charm with their guests as well. The food did not disappoint either. This is the best calamari I've ever had! In fact, calamari is not something I order often because it's usually a boring fried calamari ring and some marinara. This Vietnamese take is a beautiful and unique interpretation that is for more enjoyable than standard calamari. I will return to Marker 32 just for this dish! The entrees were delicious as well, and the creme brulee was a perfect dessert. If you want to have a decadent meal and feel truly cared for, come to Marker 32.

Delightful dinner at this upscale restaurant in Jacksonville. I joined late and sat at the bar, so unfortunately I can't speak to the view but I've heard it's wonderful I decided to order a few appetizers to try different things. The M32 broiled oysters came highly recommended by Yelp and the restaurant staff, so I had to give them a try first. Very delicious, personally I wish the flavors of sun dried tomatoes and bacon wouldn't have overpowered the oysters as much, but they were broiled perfectly, served beautifully and delicious. Next, I tried the grilled octopus with shoestring crispy potatoes and an arugula bean salad. I love octopus but thought this one was presented too oily, and overpowered by roasted peppers and bacon. The salad was the highlight on the plate. Lastly, I ordered the scallops on corn purée and OMG my life will never be the same. It was PERFECTION! Scallops were served at perfect temperature and so beautifully highlighted by the corn and veggies. I was full but could.not.stop.eating. Highly recommended for anyone!!! Another moment of delight was the 20-year old Port which was simply delectable. Overall, fantastic menu, wonderful selection of wines and cocktails and very friendly staff. Upon leaving, a cat said hi on the patio, apparently she comes by for leftovers each night after closing. Purrfect!

Beautiful setting, great hostess at the front and our server was so patient. Her service was awesome. She even brought a complimentary pecan desert to the table. The fried shrimp were huge and seasoned, the cocktail Sauce was not needed. The oyster topped deviled eggs were quite different but tasty. The vegan pad Thai noodles were a little undercooked but the flavors were there. The spin on the fried green tomatoes was yummy.
